Bedtime Tennis.

Tonight, like every other night, I had to ask Eli to go to bed at least 13 times. On the last time he replied, "Why do I need to be in my bed?". To which I answered, "Because, I need to know you are doing your work by getting enough rest." His retort was, "Why can't I rest out here with you?" Trying to put an end to this game I said, "Because the people who sleep in their beds are the well-rested ones." Without hesitation Eli stunned me with, "Well, I don't want to be like other peolple. I just want to be like myself." Game point. I made him a pallet on the floor of his bedroom.

This was/is one of the raddest lofts ever. If I were an agent trying to rent it, this is how it would read:

Neighbor Jay

This is my neighbor Jay. I like him a lot. According to my mother, we have known each other since we were kids. Neither of us remember that though. One time in conversation, while referencing a local tattoo artist, he pointed at one of his face tattoos. He mistakenly pointed to the opposite side of his face. This lead me to wonder: "How many tattoos does one have to have before one forgets were they're face tattoos are?". He has since gotten one more. Maybe two.

If you give a kid a camera.............

This is what the future looks like. It looks just like the past. He has the same goals his father had, to squeeze as much fun out of the day as possible. He he laughs at the same things his father found funny. Farts are timeless. It is almost impossible for us to not become our parents. However, it is possible for us to be the parents we want our children to become.

Gracefully growing old.

This is what it looks like to be 30+ and trying to skate when it is 90+ degrees. I can't wait to be 40.
